Flying down a steep icy hill on planks of wood after only a few practice runs may sound terrifying, but that’s exactly what staff and students did last month. The University of Alberta’s Recreation Services held a ski and snowboard event at Snow Valley on January 25, including bus service to and from the University. I was invited along to take photos and decided to document the entire trip instead of focusing purely on the skiing itself.
I added a new section to my photography portfolio for Gateway clippings.
The following images are clippings from the print edition of The Gateway. A link to the article on the web is in each photo’s description. I started volunteering for The Gateway as a photographer in January 2013. I then took over as photo editor in May.
The next photo walk will be on Halloween, October 31st! It’s a Thursday, but there will be a ton of people out in costumes that want to get their pictures taken.
We’ll meet at the Old Strathcona Chapters on the first floor at 8:00pm, and head out from there. Bring a flash!
